All-Star Concert In The Works Ahead Of Jimmy Carter’s 100th Birthday

The Carter Center is set to host a star-studded concert at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia, for former president Jimmy Carter’s 100th birthday. The special tribute event, Jimmy Carter 100: A Celebration in Song, is slated for September 17, and its $100 tickets will be made available in days.

Although Jimmy does not turn 100 until the first day in October, his grandson Jason Carter, who is the Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Carter Center, thinks a night of music is the best way to make the political icon happy prior to D-day.

Jimmy is a lover of good music

Jason revealed that his granddad found joy and inspiration in music, which he enjoyed playing even on campaign trails and the White House lawn. Jimmy is a good friend of Willie Nelson and often campaigned with the Allman Brothers band, who will be back for his 100th birthday party.

Jimmy is an interesting persona, he once held a jazz concert at the White House lawn in 1978, only a year after he became president. The Allman Brothers’ former keyboardist Chuck Leavell said they enjoyed performing during Jimmy’s rallies because they believed in his vision and plans for America.
